TypingTimer is built to be simple, useful, and respectful of your privacy. We collect the minimum amount of data needed to operate the site and provide optional features like leaderboards.

We do not require accounts, email addresses, or logins.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Typing test results and personal history are stored locally in your browser.
• This data never leaves your device unless you choose to submit a score to a public leaderboard.
• You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for TypingTimer.

Leaderboards (Optional)

If you choose to submit a score to a public leaderboard:

• You provide a username (or use a generated one)
• We store your typing score, test duration, accuracy, and submission time
• Leaderboard entries are public and visible to others

To prevent abuse and spam:

• We use non-reversible hashed identifiers derived from technical request data (such as IP address and browser information)
• We do not store raw IP addresses
• These hashes are used only for rate limiting and moderation

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand general site usage (for example: page views and device types).

• No advertising profiles
• No cross-site tracking
• No attempt to identify individual users

Cookies

TypingTimer uses only essential cookies required for site functionality and preference storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Third-Party Infrastructure

TypingTimer is hosted using third-party infrastructure providers. These providers may process standard server logs (such as IP addresses and browser type) for security and operational purposes.

You remain in control of your data:

• Clear local typing history at any time
• Do not submit leaderboard scores if you prefer not to
